A.
APPEARANCE AND MANNER

On time
and execution of pre-game duties on the floor.

Clean,
pressed and proper uniform, shoes polished and hair neat.

In good
physical condition, weight appropriate for height and build.

Court
presence and appearance, personality, professionalism and
demeanor.

Toss and
basic position and alertness for opening toss, free throw
situations and all throw-ins.
B.
MECHANICS AND RULE ENFORCEMENT

Did calls
demonstrate a clear understanding of the rules?

Were the
proper penalties assessed?
-
Were the
application
of rules followed properly?

How was
reaction and poise under pressure?
-
Use of
approved signals?
-
Sharp,
crisp, clear whistle?

Strong and
controlled voice, not accusing?
-
Intelligible signals? (Do we know what was called)

All
throw-in and time-outs procedures administered properly?

Switch positions on fouls? (In accordance with mechanics
manual)

Good
opening toss for jump ball?

Clear
communication achieved with scores and timers?

Judgment
and consistency in administering rules?

Consistency in fouls called? (Were fouls call similarly
from beginning to end, is a foul in the first ten minutes
the same at the end of the game)

Did the
trail official work the 3-point arch and get the best
possible angles?

Were they
in proper position to make the call?

Were the
officials firm
but not accusing from the beginning to the end?

Were the
call made in a clear and confidant manner?

GAME BENCH AND CROWD CONTROL

players, coaches and bench personnel kept under control?

“coaching box” rule enforced?

game handled well under pressure and volatile situations?

Teamwork,
eye contact with partner?

Clear
mechanics and communication on 3-point shots, free throw
attempts and last second shots for goal? (Include shot
clock)

hands on the dribbler? (Were they holding or inhibiting)

Post play
denials and match-ups, push offs, and swim stroke movements?
(Keeping post play under control)

Screening?
(Were they legal or illegal)

Block-Charge interpretation called with consistency?

Advantage/disadvantage calls (Backcourt and open court
judgment perhaps a bit closer inside on the shooter?)

Intentional/Hard fouls called consistently (Were all efforts
made to directly play the ball?)

“No calls”
were they appropriate?

Goaltending basket interference calls (Were they consistency
and from the proper position?)

Perception
and awareness (Did the officials see the entire play?)

Did the
officials initiate switches and rotations well when working?

Was the
court balance and covered entirely during full court
pressure?

Did they
cover the part of the court they were responsible for?
-
Was
conversation between officials and coaches kept to a
minimum?

Were both coaches call together when conversation was
necessary? For example: Any unusual circumstances,
scoring, timing mistakes and correctable errors?

Did the referee communicate as needed and professionally
with his/her fellow officials during time-outs to maintain
control of the players, coaches and game
situations.
